Jes is the Naarm-based owner and creative director of emerging gender-neutral intimates and soft-fetishwear label Vilaine.

@Vilaine.au is all about empowered sensuality, disrupting the lingerie market with contemporary, wearable styles that help people feel comfortable in their own skin. Jes designs, develops and makes everything in-house, blending traditional fashion techniques with modern 3D design technology. This approach allows styles to be evaluated for suitability across different body types, resulting in a more inclusive and versatile collection. The range is also modular, encouraging repeat wear and personalisation.

With over 15 years’ experience across fashion and costume, Jes was shaped by queer and underground club culture during their formative years working in London’s theatre scene, before moving back to Australia to pursue the next stage of their career. Wanting something empowering and unique to wear to Mardi Gras one year, Jes drew on their expertise to make it themselves. After five years of researching and developing the concept, Jes launched Vilaine in September 2026. With new styles already on the horizon, this is the future of lingerie. And the future is fluid.
