Schoolhouse has been given just one year before our current home is demolished.

For years, we have provided affordable studios, workshops, events, and gathering space for artists, makers, musicians, and the wider Coburg community. We’ve become a vital part of the cultural fabric of Merri-bek, a meaningful place for creativity and community.

We are not against development. We believe cities should evolve. But growth should build with the communities that already exist here, not displace them.

Without support, Schoolhouse, and the hundreds of artists, small businesses, community groups, and local residents who use this space may not survive the transition.

We are calling on Merri-bek City Council to work with us to secure a new long-term home for Schoolhouse.
