The Stars And Soil exhibition could have come with a subtitle: Field Notes from an Ongoing Investigation.
The big question investigated is of course: What is it to be human? Who are we, exactly, and why? It seems that we are of both, all of it: ashes and star dust, ancient, impatient, beautiful, wild. Imperfect antennas. Connected and untethered, we are opposites and composites. We are donuts and batteries. We contain our grandmothers and they contain us.
And why?
That needs more research.
