Merri-bek City Council and RMIT PlaceLab are hosting an event to explore the key ingredients of successful streets and public places. No-one understands public space the way that locals do, so we want community members to be part of the conversation and share their perspectives.
What makes you want to visit and spend time in public spaces? What are the things that make spaces and streets comfortable, resilient, welcoming and safe for people of all ages and backgrounds? How is the natural world accommodated in our public places? What public spaces inspire or delight you?
This hands-on, fun event will bring diverse members of the community together with RMIT academics and Master of Architecture students to share expert design thinking behind great places, hear from locals about how they experience places, and interact with a streetscape model to see how these ingredients play out in 3 dimensions.
This free event has a limited capacity and is registration only.
A light lunch will be provided.
Schoolhouse Studios is an accessible venue with 2 accessible bathrooms.
