Exhibition Opening: Thursday 7th August, 6pm
Nina Ruby presents a new collection of oil paintings in their exhibition, a slow build.
The works are an exploration into perception and sense, in relation to landscape and form. Ruby attempts to capture and transmute pre-existing forms and compositions found in the natural environment so they may be experienced in a new context.
The land is ever changing, crumbling, recoherring, as is our relationship with it.
Ruby is interested in working within this flux and examining how intrinsically linked we are to our environment and immediate surroundings, in pursuit of an awareness and understanding of place.
Imagery of the land is woven together with motifs from dreams, memories and connections made through place and objects.
