Lisa Stewart


Lisa Stewart is a multi-disciplinary visual artist living and working in Melbourne. She completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Photomedia at Monash University in 2007 and a Bachelor of Arts in Film & Television at Monash University in 2009.

Selected projects & exhibitions include: Cardboard Utopias, Artist Workshops with Rachel Feery at Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Melbourne, 2011, En el Ciudad de los Círculos, Residencia Corazón Gallery, Buenos Aires, Argentina 2010; Sunset Over Cardboard Mountains (with Rachel Feery & Ed Gould), Studio 246 as part of the 2010 Next Wave Festival, Melbourne, 2010; Songs to Dance to, Songs to Die to, as HAPPY COOL, Format Festival, Adelaide, 2010; Magic Eye (with Rachel Feery), Platform Artist Group Inc., Degraves Subway, Melbourne, 2009; Debut V (with Rachel Feery), Blindside, Melbourne, 2009; Hide and Seek, China Club Arts Hub, This is Not Art Festival, Newcastle, 2009; Testing Ground, 45 Downstairs, Melbourne, 2009; Echoes of Gold (with Rachel Feery) at O Projects Gallery, Melbourne, 2008 and Firstdraft Gallery, Sydney 2009; The Ecologies Project, Monash University Museum of Art, Melbourne 2008.

In 2007, Lisa was the recipient of Designwise Photomedia Award for Excellence in Third Year Photomedia at Monash University. In 2009, Lisa was Next Wave Kickstart artist in collaboration with Ed Gould and Rachel Feery for the project Sunset Over Cardboard Mountains. Ed, Lisa and Rachel also received an Arts Victoria presentation grant in 2009. In 2010 Lisa was the recipient of an Australia Council ArtStart grant and undertook a 2-month residency at Residencia Corazón, Argentina. Lisa will be exhibiting a new solo work Caves of Requirement at Linden Centre for Contemporary arts in November 2012 as part of their innovators program.
